A Dedicated Program for Animal Welfare

About
Us

Just4Paws (J4P) dedicates its mission to "Saving One Life at A Time". J4P rescues cats and dogs from despairing situations and ensures they find loving homes that will care for them for the rest of their lives.

Just4 Paws is foster based rescue with volunteers providing services for animals in need. All donations will be used towards living expenses for animals, supplies, food, shelter needs, medical costs, and other necessities for short- and long-term assistance. We are dedicated to rescuing and sheltering abandoned and neglected animals, providing them a second chance at life. Your support can help us make a profound impact.

We are a fully incorporated, IRS recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with volunteer staff only.

Our Vision

A Safe Haven for Animals

We are dedicated to finding permanent families for homeless, abused, and abandoned animals who are in need of short and long term care until we are able to find their loving forever home.

Foster

By offering your time, energy and home to an animal in need, you prepare the animal for adoption into a permanent home and help prevent overcrowding in shelters. Fostering also saves the lives of animals at risk of euthanization.

Meet Catrina Slade

Founder /Director

As the founder and driving force behind J4P Rescue, Catrina Slade has turned her lifelong compassion for animals into a powerful mission to save and protect those who need it most. J4P is one of the few 501(c)(3) animal welfare organizations founded and operated by a woman—and under Catrina’s leadership, it thrives through a dedicated network of fosters and volunteers.

Catrina truly does it all. She personally fosters kittens, cats, and dogs; coordinates volunteers for adoption events; organizes meet-and-greets between adopters and animals; and traps and transports cats from unsafe situations to calm, healing environments. She nurses rescues back to health—physically and emotionally—helping them rediscover trust and comfort.

Her compassion shines through in every rescue story. Take Reese, for example—a once fearful cat who, through Catrina’s patience and collaboration with her foster, is now learning to connect with humans again and prepare for a loving forever home.

Catrina ensures every animal in J4P’s care receives full medical attention, including spaying or neutering, wellness checks, vaccinations, and specialty treatments. The organization also supports fosters with food, litter, and essential supplies—removing financial barriers so that every animal can receive the best care possible.

Beyond rescue and rehabilitation, Catrina focuses on education. She personally meets with every potential foster and adopter, taking time to teach them about responsible pet care and to ensure the right match between animal and family. Her goal is always the same: to reduce owner surrenders and increase the number of animals who thrive in loving, permanent homes.

As J4P’s founder and main operator, Catrina is hands-on at every event, knowing each animal’s unique story and personality. Her deep understanding of the human–animal bond guides every decision she makes.

Through J4P’s Outreach Program, Catrina also helps low-income families afford spay and neuter services, and the organization regularly transports free-roaming cats for treatment to help reduce stray populations.

Catrina’s community partnerships are another cornerstone of her work. She collaborates with local organizations, shelters, and businesses to coordinate rescues and medical care. One early effort—before J4P was even officially founded—saw her leading the rescue of a young mother cat and her four kittens. While the kittens were placed in loving homes, the feral mother, later named Ivy, needed extra time and care. Catrina fostered Ivy herself, patiently socializing her until she could be adopted by Catrina’s own mother—where Ivy now lives happily and safely.

It’s stories like Ivy’s that inspired Catrina to officially start J4P Rescue—an organization built on love, patience, and the belief that every animal deserves a chance to heal and be loved.
